About Cian Hamilton

Cian Hamilton is an accomplished producer, mixer and live sound engineer from Sligo, Ireland, now based in the Central Coast of California. In 2021, Cian and his wife Lauren founded Middle Ridge Studio, nestled in a log cabin in the Diablo Mountain Range of the V6 Ranch. Surrounded by stunning views and an inspiring atmosphere, the studio is as unique as the sounds it captures, equipped with a carefully curated collection of vintage and modern gear.

Although Middle Ridge Studio officially opened in 2022, Cian’s journey in audio began years earlier in Sligo’s Model Arts Center, where he and friends learned the ropes of recording. From there, he honed his skills through internships and by setting up his own mobile rig, capturing music in fascinating locations across Ireland, including abandoned convents, churches from the 1800s, and old manor houses. This eclectic experience shaped his signature sound—blending intimate, organic recordings with atmospheric textures and occasional electronic touches.

Cian has worked with a diverse range of artists, including Winter Aid, Ahhmanda, Alannah Thornburgh, Kevin Coons, Anna Mike, Seánie Bermingham, Alfi, Miss Leo and more. He also played a pivotal role as the lead sound engineer for This Ain’t No Disco, an Irish music program focused on live music, visuals, and collaboration in Ireland’s Folk and Alternative scene.

His expertise extends beyond the studio, having toured with artists such as Limp Bizkit, Jhene Aiko and John Francis Flynn.
